Pre-departure training

Had a very busy weekend with training at the University and with WUSC-Uniterra. Saturday was our "ethics and course work" training at the Uni, where we talked about our expectations and hopes for the internship. Most students are going to Africa (Botswana, Ghana, Sénégal, Burkina Faso, Malawi) while the rest are some future Peruvians, one potential Nepalese, one prospective Indian and two hopeful Vietnamese girls. :D It was a really great session, our prof is just great and had some funny anecdotes to tell about getting robbed and making children cry because they thought he was going to eat them.

Sunday was the WUSC orientation. I'm going to Vietnam through Uniterra which is a program jointly run by WUSC and CECI (à Montréal). It was really good to talk about all the logistics, had some questions answered and got to hear some truly moving presentations from former WUSC interns. Unfortunately, none of the former Vietnam interns were there, but I got an email from two of them and we'll be meeting soon to talk about their experiences.

I'll also be blogging on the Uni and WUSC blogs, will post the links once I get my first blogs up!

Compte à rebours: plus que 34 jours avant le grand départ!
